EERO AARNIO
Internationally famous, Eero Aarnio is a Finnish designer born in 1932. From 1954 to 1957 he studied at the “Ars and Design” University in Helsinki. He began his career opening his own practice in 1962, where he operated in the fields of interior design and industrial design. But Eero Aarnio is best known as product designer, even if he has also worked with graphic and photography. Eero Aarnio began experimenting with different kind of materials, vivid colors and organic forms, breaking away from traditional design conventions. He created famous works, including “The ball” (1963), “The Pastil” (1968) and “The Bubble” (1968), which are chairs characterized by an innovative and futuristic design. Many of his works are included in world’s most famous museums, such as the “Victoria and Albert Museum” in London, “MoMA” in New York, the “Vitra Design Museum” in Weil am Mein and the “Centre Georges Pompidou” museum in Paris. Recently he has also collaborated with the renowned brand Magis Me Too ,designing product especially thought for children.
